![]() Shortbill Spearfish (Tetrapturus angustirostris) Hebi With a bill that is almost nonexistent the Shortbill Spearfish known as Hebi in Hawaii is caught in Hawaiian waters and usually has a weight between 20 and 40 pounds in the round. Although available year-round, the peak in landings occurs from June through October.
This Spearfish has amber-colored flesh that is
somewhat softer than that of the blue or striped marlin. Its flavor is
mild although more pronounced than the Yellowfin Tuna.
